I have always felt that it is essential for a visual artist to be able to draw.  Figure Drawing sharpens the brain, the eye, the hand and the spirit.  It is essential to seeing, visualizing and knowing how to see then plan, compose and execute a work.  Drawing is also very beautiful on its own terms because it is about as pure of a translation of the seen to the presentation.  I generally draw at least a couple times a week and never fail to learn more about art, vision and self and the world.
